Many people , male or female , love to fish. As long as your having fun it really doesn’t matter how you throw or cast your line , but for those of you who want to know the correct way I have a technique that should help. Having an award-winning fisherman as a dad helps to add to the experience of fishing. The technique is rather simple yet effective:
- 1. Check your tackle box to make sure you have the ideal amount of line. The spool should be filled to an eighth of an inch from the lip. Any amount more would cause drag in your throw.
- 2. Assume the position for casting. Hold the rod in your dominant hand with the tip pointing to 10 o’clock , and drop the lure about a foot from the tip of the rod. Pinch the line against the rod with your index finger to hold it in place. Flip open the bail ( the thin wire that keeps the line on the spool.)
- 3. Prepare to cast your line. Snap the tip to the 1o’clock position to load the rod , and then flick it forward , releasing the line when the tip reaches 11o’clock.
- 4.Cast the line. Your lure will land wherever your rod points after you release the line. To reduce it’s entry speed slow down the spool with your finger. Close the bail and reel in the slack slowly , to make sure the fish still think it’s food and not a lure.

There are many TV channels for teenagers today on television. Being a a teenager I have experience with many of these channels. Parents may be worried about what their kids are watching on TV, the truth is they’re going to see it someday, but here are some that attract teens :
- MTV
- MTV2
- VH1
- E!

Your teenager may also want to subscribe to a “teen” magazine. The magazine helps them keep up with the latest trends. Here are a few that are just for teens :

Summer 2008 is already here and you want fun ideas at home or vacation ideas because of high gas prices. Here are a few that might help:
- Marco Polo in the swimming pool is always fun. Parents, this year if the kids beg you to get in the pool with them, please do. Have fun with this all-time classic!
- SIX FLAGS!!! Six Flags is a great place for kids, teens, and parents for all ages, offering a kiddy/Looney Toons land and fast, monsterous coasters and other rides for everyone.
- A baseball game for the whole family. While you’re there grab some refreshments, they are always relaxing. Some Minor League games, like the one above, have a firework show afterward…Everyone loves fireworks!
- Camping out is a great way to get everyone out of the house and out from in front of the air-conditioner. If you don’t know exactly how to “get started”, I recommend Larry Fischer’s blog on WordPress.com.
- A Game Day, invite some friends and family over and set up a volleyball net, a horseshoe post, bases for a softball game or whatever outside. A fun inside game is Twister, but make sure you have a lot of space. Just have some fun in the sun and show your competitive side!!
